Mission Statement:
JULinux or Just Use Linux (originally
Ultumix) is a project dedicated to eliminating excuses for current
Microsoft / Mac users not to switch to Linux. JULinux has no
intention of forcing people to use Linux. We want to make it as easy
as possible. We at JULinux feel that currently Linux has become too
commercial and the community seems more and more powerless. Ubuntu
for example use to be a community driven distribution but now it's
controlled by Canotical. JULinux is an attempt to put the control of
what Linux is back in the hands of the end user instead of a
corporation or paid Linux Programmers. If we had money we would pay
Linux programmers / hackers but we want to make sure they are doing
what the end users want and not what's going to sell the most
computers or promote people calling in for support. Right now
everyone with JULinux has my personal phone number. If it was always
ringing all the time I'd go insane. I pride myself with the fact that
thousands of people use my distribution but seek help on the Internet
and solve their own problems instead of calling me. This means that
JULinux has meant it's goal of making Linux easier to use. JULinux
also wants to make educational resources readily available such as
the Bible.
Q: What's up with all the slander written about JULinux, Ultumix, and Justin Breithaupt on the internet?
A:
Internet Trolls have decided to write
slander about me, my distribution, and my website because of their
intolerance for my Christian beliefs, because they don't like the
idea of having a Windows like interface for Linux, and just to see if
they can upset me. I also believe they try to attack me because of
negative influences on their lives. I would encourage any Christians
reading this to pray for them.
Q: Why is it called JULinux / Just Use Linux and what does that mean?
A: JULinux or Just Use Linux does not mean that everyone should
only use Linux. It's actually part of a phrase that I say in
frustration when a user is having problems due to the fact that they
are using Microsoft or Macintosh products and I know that they would
not experience these problems using Linux and I also know that my
distribution will meet their needs. (Phrase: "Why don't you Just Use
Linux") Because JULinux takes excuses away for not using it it's also
called Just Use Linux. JULinux is a nicer way to put it because it's
not as much of an attack telling someone that they
Must use Linux.
Q: Is this software free?
A: Yes it is free to use and download from us. You can download the
.iso via
Torrent or directly from a mirror listed on our site for free. If you
wish to have a DVD copy then please use the Google Merchant Account
Below. We had to include Adobe Flash Player to make the system usable
for Linux converts but in order to include it we had to apply for
permission from Adobe.
If
you want to redistribute it you need the same permission. We are not
selling Adobe software or any other software but rather the Disk in
exchange for a donation towards our expences. We are however protecting
our name and the quality of the computers with our name on them by not
allowing anyone to just go out and sell computers without first getting
permission from us.
Q: Does this distribution come with any illegal codecs, programs, or non-free applications?
A: No Every Version Greater than 0.0.1.1 comes with all free codecs,
programs, and applications. Some programs have been made by
commercial entities such as
Adobie. We have recieved written concent from Adobe to release their
flash player / plugin with our distributions.
Q: What contributions have you made to the GNU/Linux community? What gives you the right to redistribute this work?
A: The GPL gives me rights. I have contributed to the Linux community
with my GLUG, GNU/Linux User Group. I have sponsored the car in the
TUX500 Indy500 race. I use
TheLinuxFund.org
Visa credit card so that every time I make a purchase it supports the
FSF. My ideas to help bridge the gap between Windows users and
GNU/Linux users by designing JULinux is also my contribution even
though I am using other's software to do it.
Q: Why do you give Jesus Christ credit for your ideas?
A: Because it's part of my Christian beliefs. One of my main goals
as a Christian is to glorify God and give Him credit for the good
things in my life.
Q: Is Microsoft Evil?
A: I don't think people are evil but rather are enfluenced by evil /
demonic forces that attempt to persuade us to do things that we should
not do. The Bible says "By their fruits you shall know them." so
whatever the fruit of their labor is and the means they used to produce
it is, reveals the nature of their company.
Q: So who are these strange people that call themselves Christians?
A: Jesus Christ is, was, and always
will be God of Gods and King of Kings. He showed great Mercy, Power,
and Humility when he was here with us as a Man. He Suffered and Died
so that we would not have to be condemned to hell, if only we would
believe in Him that He did die for our sins and all of the sins of
the world and that he is powerful enough to deliver us from whatever
we have done. Don't listen to the fear inside some of you that says
that you have been too bad and can not be forgiven because the Power
of God's grace and mercy knows no end. What more could you ask for.
It's not too good to be true. It's free and it's yours. Nothing you
can do can ever make up for the price He had to pay for you so don't
try. Just accept his free gift for you.
Also you will hear a lot
of people giving that message but there is more and if you don't go
threw with it your life will probably suck. Accepting Jesus Christ as
Saviour is excellent but that's not the end. Some people think that
God is the magic genie and that you can simply ask for things and get
them without devoting your life to Him. First of all the Power of God
is seen threw the power of the Holy Spirit in physical forms most
commonly called miracles. In order to receive the Holy Spirit most
people must first Repent of their sins which means to turn 180
degrees of the sinful direction you go and travel the opposite
direction. You can't do this on your own will power so don't try.
Instead follow Christ and what he wants you to do (what you know you
should do) and you won't have as much time to sin. Also Baptism is a
big part of this. You have all heard of the "Mark of the Beast"
in the Bible. Baptism is the "Mark of Christ". It's a
symbol of your commitment to Him. After accepting the Mark of Baptism
you can receive the Holy Spirit and experience the fullness of
Christ. However expect an attack from Satan right afterwards. Above
all don't doubt. Some people have done all of these things in a
different order and still receive the promises of God. All I can
promise you is that if you do what God wants you to do in this way
you will receive the fullness of God.
Q: Christians Are Bigots Aren't they?
Note: First of all I'd have to agree 50% with some of you out
there. I've seen plenty of "Religious" people that go to Church and
claim to be a Christian (Representative of Christ) who don't follow
what is in the Bible or attempt to outside of Church. Most people don't
understand the Bible unless they have recieved the Holy Spirit. The
Darkness can not comprehend the Light. God's Truth is Light. These
people are the Hypocrites / Bigots. They refuese to admit that they don't
make mistakes that they tell others not to make. Hypocritical
Christians are not Christians. This includes being Racist.
A: No we are not. Christians are tollerant of other religions
and the lack of religion as long as the people that lack Christianity
don't try to limit the freedoms of the Christian community or to force
another religion on a Christian. We do try to learn about other
religions. We don't discriminate against race or sex.
Christians are discriminated against maybe even more than the rest of you.
Why do we do it inspite of all the hate that you bring against us? The
answer is Truth, Patience, Peace, Kindness, and Love. Yes we even love
you.
What about the Christians that do look down on others and point out their problems rather than helping them?
We must reach out to everyone.
