How to install JULinux
WARNING!
Before doing anything remember if you interrupt the
Finish_Install_Failsafe.sh you must click the Idiot_Button.sh on the
desktop to fix it and then continue. Also make sure your computer is
plugged into a phisical internet connection before continuing. Wireless
works in Linux but we prefer that durring the install you use a
dedicated connection.
Step1 Boot from the install CD and select "Start JULinux_0.1.5.0c in Graphical Mode
Step2 Find and Double Click Install as Seen Below

Or if you can not find Install on the Desktop.
Click Start > System > Administration > Install
Step3 Select your language.

Step4 Select your time zone.
(closest city Example: Los Angeles = Pacific Time Zone)
Step5
Select your keyboard layout. This is important if you have a forign
keyboard or one with the Devorak layout. Test to see if your keyboard
works properly in the blank bar at the bottom.
Step6
Choose where to install JULinux. If you see a Windows install or a
previous Linux install you can either choose to erase everything and
use the entire drive or you can split the drive into partitions.
Don't use Manual unless you know what you are doing.
Step7
Enter a user name and password you will remember. If you don't remember
it you won't be able to complete the install, log in, or install or
remove programs.
Step8 Click install and wait 10 - 20 minutes.

Step9 Click Restart Now
Step10 Log in using your user name and password.
Step11
Double Click Finish_Install_Failsafe.sh (click two times really fast
with the left button on your mouse while the pointer is over
Finish_Install_Failsafe.sh)
Step12 Click Run In Terminal (Don't click Cancel)

Before going to Step 13 type in your password and press enter if you haven't already.
Step13
This is Ultamatix. It allows you to install all kinds of extra goodies.
Have fun but remember not to select OpenOffice.org 3 or OpenOffice.org
Clipart without first completing this installation following all the
steps and then removing OpenOffice all together first.
Step14
Envy will open. It will ask you if you have an NVIDIA or ATI graphics
card and allow you to install it automatically. In most cases this will
work just fine. Do not allow Envy to restart your computer when asked. Instead close it and allow the installer to continue. It's not safe to restart until it's finished.
Step15
As soon as you see Firefox open and take you to the JULinux donation
page you know it's safe to restart your computer, however as you know
all evil computer programmers like us will haunt your computer unless
you give us a donation (Just kiding). But seriously if you think our
operating system is worth as much or greater value than Windows 7 or
buying a $1,000 Apple iMac then please send donations. It isn't easy to
do this and pay the bills.
May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and your computer.
Justin Breithaupt.
If everything goes wrong. If your not new to Linux
(you have used it for a year) use the magical powers of Google.com
first and look for your problem there. It's helpfull to include
Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 in your search. Also use the Google search on
www.justuselinux.com because it's better suited for Linux users.
If your new to LinuxFirst
call 509-843-2414 and we will help you for free and if you can't pay
for the long distance call just tell us and we will call you!
Second if your computer tries to boot and you see (see picture below)

But
you don't see anything after that it probably means your video driver
is the wrong one and yes you can blame that on Envy's repositories that
work better than everyone elses. To fix this you can read the
readme.txt on the desktop first before installing and it will tell you
how to manually install your NVIDIA driver. We can help you do this
over the phone.
Some times in order to get a working desktop
temporarily you may need to edit yoru XORG.CONF file and tell it to use
vesa drivers. We can walk you threw this.
We don't force you to
give us donations in return for this or ask you for them but we do
appreciate them. It's your way of saying thanks to us. :)
